A Series of Matters -- Part 1

Monday
It was definitely a very busy week. That's because the two important contests we had prepared for a long time were held just this week! We, DFLL freshmen, seize every minute to practice chorus after our classes were dismissed in order to make a success tomorrow night. Besides, I myself who was in charge of the art designing of the cheer squad had to get the work done faster day and night. That's really tired and stressful.

Tuesday

Tonight is the time that the chorus contest was held. I didn't feel nervous at all, but I was a little worried about my voice cracking and cough that resulted from the cold. Happily, I finished the singing smoothly without any mistakes till the end. After our performance, we got a burst of applause and a cheer from the audience, of course including our seniors at school. It was quite pleased that we got the second prize at last. All of our efforts were paid off.

P.S. I was very grateful for those seniors in the chorus club, especially the leader, who conducted us hard! They helped us so much and even gave us extra time to practice. Thanks a lot!

A Busy Week ...... Feel Exhausted! But Do Our Best!! : )

This was also a busy week. All of us have been trying hard to prepare for the coming contests of cheer squad and chorus because we want to do our best and make a success. In addition, the midterm exam is coming soon after those. Our schedules were so full recently that most of us were going to be almost exhausted.

The members of the cheer squad had to practice very late every night this week. That made them quite tired. Because of the difficult and dangerous skills, some of them got hurt and bruised. I felt so worried about their safety. I wish that they can be completely uninjured after each time they practice. Meanwhile, I am responsible for the art designing. I felt a little anxious, stressful, and tired because we have to beat our brains out to figure out how to make what we need in a short period of time.

Without enough sleep and rest, as well as owing to the changeable cool weather, some members had a cold. It was really a terrible situation that they couldn’t sing beautifully because they had a sore throat. Also, there was a big problem with Alto that I am in charge of teaching and leading. That was our unsteady pitches. Some of us couldn’t get exact pitches certainly sometimes. Therefore, I had to be patient to teach them repeatedly till they all got it.

Although I feel exhausted, I am still convinced that god will help those who help themselves. So, if we had already done what we can do, we should trust ourselves and take it easy to face any kind of circumstances.

Yes, we can make it!

An Honorable Moment

This was a busy and tired week. But, deeply in my mind, I felt very happy and satisfied. From Tuesday to Friday night in a row, we had a series of volley ball games to play and there was no time for us to get enough rest. As a result, I bruised my arm in a large-scale. It was such a coincidence that the party which greeted freshmen was held on Tuesday and the barbecue of DFLL was held on Thursday. However, in order to play the games, my teammates and I had to sacrifice a little time to have fun with our classmates and seniors at school.

During the process of playing the games, I was so happy and lucky to be a member of DFLL. When I lost points, my teammates would said “Never mind!” to encourage me and patted me on my back to comfort my bad and nervous mood. Meanwhile, we would have a handshake and dive one another an affirmative expression when we got points. Besides, there were a lot of people, certainly including our classmates and seniors at school, coming to cheer for us. We were just like a big SWEET family. Those really made my heart feel so warm and fragrant.

After the challenge of physical strength which had been lasting for four nights, we got the championship at the end. What a gorgeous ending! All of us felt so excited, joyful, and a sense of success and honor. That’s because we did try to do our best and put much effort to play each game and then we reached the goal of being the champion. I think what we had sacrificed was all paid off! And we proved that we are the best!

I Love You All!

Have a Great Time

Last Saturday night, I had a date with my seniors at school. It was the first time that I meet them in such an occasion so I was so excited. We dined together in an American restaurant named “Stair”. I left for the destination straight from home by bus that night. In order not to be late for the appointment, I advanced the time of leaving home to wait for the bus. However, the bus unexpectedly delayed for about half an hour so that I was late for about 10 minutes. During the time I was waiting, I was really very anxious and mad at the delayed bus, and also worried about that they would have bad impression on me owing to my late arrival. Happily, they smilingly told me,“Never mind!”

At first, I just listened to what they were talking in silence unless they ask me some questions so that they think I am a quiet and introverted girl. Gradually, I blended into the pleasant atmosphere and began chatting with them at ease. We kept talking about something interesting and everyone’s current situation till the waitress informed us they were going to close the store for the night. Therefore, they decided to go to another store to continue the joyful emotions and they invited me to go with them. But, I refused because it was so late at night that I had to go home lest my families would worry about my safety. What a pity! I really wanted to go with them and kept enjoying the happy time.

I like my seniors at school very much because they are so nice and easygoing. It makes me so happy that there will be lots of chances we can get together and have fun in the future. :)

Self-management

After I graduated from the senior high school, it seemed that the center of gravity in my life disappeared suddenly. I think that’s because I need not study for all day long any more, and then I didn’t find any goals of life to reach. Since I entered the university and became a college student, I have been living a free, joyful but almost unregulated life for three weeks. Although I am able to arrange my own life at will, I usually let the time flies away unconsciously and seldom accomplish something efficiently. Also, I think that I should spend less time on the entertainment and put much more efforts in study.

If I want to have a better and more colorful college life, I ought to do time-management and set some goals. First, I have to make my life style in order, waste the time and burn the midnight oil as less as possible, so that I will have enough vitality to concentrate in class next day. Second, I have several goals that I want to achieve, such as becoming more confident and independent, losing weight, making a lot of friends, improving my English abilities, and so on. However, I think the most important goal that I have to reach is being more active and taking action in reality instead of just thinking and saying.

‘Just go ahead! Irene.’
